Grow a Garden launched on Roblox on March 26, 2025 and broke records almost immediately. By June it had surpassed Fortnite's all-time concurrent user peak of 15.3 million players. By August 23, 2025 it reached 22.3 million concurrent users — an all-time record for any video game — driven by a live admin event between Janzen Madsen (Jandel of Splitting Point Studios) and the creator of Steal a Brainrot. As of October 2025, the game had over 32 billion total visits.

The game was originally created by an anonymous developer known as BMWLux. Jandel's New Zealand-based Splitting Point Studios purchased a co-ownership stake in April 2025. Florida-based Do Big Studios holds a minority share. In November 2025, Story Kitchen — the production company behind the Sonic and Tomb Raider films — announced a Grow a Garden feature film in development.

Here's a worked example. A Rainbow Dragon Fruit, 10 kg, with Shocked (×100) and Celestial (×120):

• Base price of Dragon Fruit: 500 Sheckles per kg
• Weight: 500 × 10 = 5,000 base
• Rainbow variant multiplier: ×50
• Mutation stack: 1 + (100 + 120) − 2 = 219
• Final value: 5,000 × 50 × 219 = 547,500,000 Sheckles

Weight has a disproportionate impact on final value. A single 10 kg crop is worth significantly more than ten separate 1 kg crops of the same type with identical mutations. This is why chasing heavier crops — not just rarer ones — is a core high-level strategy.

Mutations are what separate a 200-Sheckle carrot from a crop worth billions. Each carries a numerical multiplier that stacks into the value formula. The maximum theoretical combined multiplier — stacking 60+ compatible mutations — has reached ×201,050 according to the Grow a Garden Fandom Wiki.

1. Browse the Value Database — Use the Crops / Pets / Gear / Mutations tabs. Search by name, sort by Value, Rarity, or Demand, and filter by rarity tier from Common to Prismatic. Click any card for the full detail view.
2. Calculate Mutation Value — Select crop + weight + mutations. The calculator enforces stacking rules automatically and flags Golden/Rainbow conflicts. Use Quick Presets for common combos like Shocked + Celestial in one click.
3. Run a Profit Calculation — Enter crop, quantity, plots, grow time, weight, and drag the Friend Boost slider. Get base value, weighted value, per-harvest sell price, net profit, profit/hour, and profit/day all at once.

Friend Boost is one of the most impactful mechanics in the game — and one of the most overlooked. When friends are active in your garden server, your sell value at Steven's Stand increases by up to 70%. A crop worth 500,000,000 Sheckles solo becomes worth 850,000,000 Sheckles at full boost — that's 350 million extra Sheckles from the exact same harvest, with zero additional effort.

The Red Fox pet amplifies this further. Its Friendbound mutation carries a ×70 multiplier, but it only activates when friends are present. A Red Fox farming solo is effectively idle. With friends online, it becomes one of the highest-multiplier pets in the game. Timing a Blood Moon or Thunderstorm event with active friends and a Red Fox equipped can produce crop values orders of magnitude higher than the same setup without company.

WFL stands for Win / Fair / Loss — the community standard for evaluating whether a trade is equitable. Win means you receive more value than you give. Fair means both sides are roughly equal. Loss means you're giving away more than you're getting back.

The Official Trading System: August 2, 2025

Before Patch 1.17.0 (the Trading & Cooking Update on August 2, 2025), all trades relied on a trust-based gifting system with no scam protection. The patch introduced the official Trade Window — both parties must confirm, values are shown in-window, and 1 Trading Ticket (100,000 ¢ or 19 Robux) is required per trade.

Pets max out at age 125. Higher age = stronger mutation application rate and ability strength. Pets are obtained from Raphael's Pet Shop and the Pet Eggs Stand. The Jungle Egg contains the most valuable trade commodity pets in the entire economy.

Grow a Garden updates on a near-weekly cycle. Every patch can add new mutations, change existing multipliers, or introduce limited-time events with exclusive content. An outdated calculator gives you wrong values. Always check the timestamp before relying on any tool's data.
