⚡ Quick Answer

The Grow a Garden 2 crop value formula is Base Value × (Weight ÷ Base Weight)2.5 × Mutation Multiplier. Each crop carries exactly one mutation at harvest, never stacked. Single-harvest crops receive only about 15% of the mutation bonus after the first harvest, while multi-harvest crops receive the full multiplier on every harvest. The calculator above returns the exact Sheckle sell value for any of the 74 confirmed GAG2 crops across both Garden Valley and Fall Harvest worlds.

In one sentence: Pick a crop, enter the fruit weight in kilograms, choose the single mutation, and the calculator returns the estimated Sheckle sell value using the gag.gg verified weight^2.5 exponent and the single-mutation rule introduced in Grow a Garden 2.

✨ GAG2 Mutation Multipliers - Quick Reference

GAG2 enforces one mutation per crop at harvest. A new mutation replaces any existing one. No stacking is possible. Most mutations come from GAG2 weather events, with the rest tied to specific pets or crops. See the full GAG2 mutation list for spawn conditions and farming strategies.

Coming from GAG1? In GAG1 mutations stack multiplicatively. In GAG2 they do not. A single Eclipsed (×80) on any crop is the maximum mutation value.

🧮 How GAG2 Crop Value Is Calculated

The sell value formula in GAG2 is: Base Value × (Weight ÷ Base Weight)2.5 × Mutation Multiplier. Weight has an outsized impact because it is raised to the power of 2.5, meaning a fruit twice the base weight sells for roughly 5.7× more, not 2×. Single-harvest crops receive only approximately 15% of the mutation bonus after the first harvest. Multi-harvest crops receive the full mutation multiplier on every harvest. To project weight scaling for a specific crop, use the Grow a Garden Weight Calculator, and plan sprinkler upgrades with the GAG2 Sprinkler Calculator since weight is the dominant value variable.

Quick worked examples

Crop Weight Mutation Approx. Sheckles
Mushroom (Epic, base 11,732, single)1 kgNone~11,732
Mushroom (Epic, base 11,732, single)2 kgNone~66,400
Mushroom (Epic, base 11,732, single)1 kgEclipsed (×80, 15% rule)~150,800
Atlantic Giant Pumpkin (base 300,000)1 kgNone~300,000
Mushroom is a single-harvest crop, so the Eclipsed mutation bonus is reduced to roughly 15% of the full multiplier (×12.85 effective instead of ×80). Multi-harvest crops like Banana or Dragon Fruit receive the full ×80. Atlantic Giant Pumpkin's fruit never stops growing, so the longer it is left on the plant, the higher the weight and value. It opens at 300,000 base but climbs indefinitely.

💰 Sell Mechanics — Daily Deal, Double or Nothing, Friend Boost, Decay

The calculator returns the base sell value of a crop. The actual Sheckles received at the sell stand can be much higher once the in-game sell modifiers are stacked on top. Four modifiers matter in Grow a Garden 2: Daily Deal, Double or Nothing, the friend count boost, and crop decay. Each works independently and applies on top of the mutation bonus already shown in the calculator result.

1. Daily Deal (+2.2× on one crop)

Daily Deal is a per-server modifier that picks one crop each day and applies a 2.2× sell multiplier to every harvest of that crop sold during the deal window. The deal rotates daily, so the optimal play is to hold harvested inventory of the deal crop until the deal window opens, then sell. The Daily Deal multiplier stacks with mutation, weight, and friend boost — it is applied on top of the calculator's estimated value.

2. Double or Nothing (replaced Bargain mode)

Double or Nothing is the successor to Bargain mode, which was permanently removed in Update 1 on June 20, 2026. It is a 50/50 gambling mechanic at Steven's Sell Stand. A win doubles the total inventory value being sold; a loss zeroes the entire payout. Favourited crops are exempt from the wager, so players can protect a high-value crop by favouriting it before triggering Double or Nothing on the rest of the inventory.

Use Double or Nothing only on inventory you can afford to lose. The expected value of a 50/50 double is exactly 1.0× (zero gain on average), so it is a variance play, not a value play. Never wager a single high-value mutated crop.

3. Friend Boost (up to +70%)

Inviting friends to the same server grants a sell bonus that scales with the number of unique friends present. The bonus caps at +70% at the maximum friend count. The bonus is applied as a flat multiplier on top of the base sell value, after the Daily Deal and mutation multipliers. For mid-game players, a fully friend-boosted server with a Daily Deal active can push a 1,000,000 Sheckle harvest to roughly 3.7 million Sheckles. See the full GAG2 friend boost guide for the exact friend-count scaling and a private server setup walkthrough.

4. Decay (20% to 55% of fresh value at full decay)

Crops decay visually over time when left unharvested. A fully decayed crop sells for only 20% to 55% of its fresh value, depending on the crop's decay rate tier. One to three Watering Can uses fully heal decay and restore full sell value. The critical exception: a crop carrying any mutation sells at its fresh value even if it looks visually decayed, because the mutation resets sell-value decay to fresh the moment it lands. Watering mutated crops before selling is optional; watering unmutated decayed crops is essential.

Sell priority order: Always sell mutated crops first (full value regardless of decay), then sell Daily Deal crops during the deal window, then sell remaining fresh crops, and use Double or Nothing last, only on inventory you can afford to lose. For the full Sheckles strategy, see the Sheckles farming guide. For an alternative to the sell stand, the GAG2 auction guide covers player-to-player trading.

🍁 Fall Harvest World - Separate Economy

Fall Harvest World (live since August 2, 2026) uses Leaves as its currency, not Sheckles. The calculator above shows base Sheckle-equivalent values for Fall Harvest crops. Inside the event world itself, Leaves prices apply and main-world Sheckles cannot be spent there. To bring items back to the main world, Magic Mail gear is required: Rare Magic Mail for items up to Rare rarity, Legendary for up to Legendary, and Super Magic Mail for any rarity including Mythic crops.

Maple crops match their Garden Valley twins in base value and base weight. Two exceptions earn more at high weights: Maple Mushroom and Maple Bamboo bypass the per-crop curve penalty applied to their originals, so they out-earn Garden Valley Mushroom and Bamboo at the same weight. Fall Harvest exclusive crops — Atlantic Giant Pumpkin, Amber Cranberry, Conifer Cone, and Romanesco — have no Garden Valley equivalent.

⚖️ GAG1 vs GAG2 — What Changed

Grow a Garden 2 is a full sequel, not an update. The crop list, mutation system, and economy were all rebuilt. Players coming from GAG1 need to unlearn the stacking-mutation meta and relearn the single-mutation rule, the weight^2.5 formula emphasis, and the separate Fall Harvest Leaves economy. The table below covers the structural differences.

Mechanic GAG1 (Grow a Garden) GAG2 (Grow a Garden 2)
MutationsStack multiplicatively across weather, pets, and seedsOne mutation per crop, new mutation replaces old, no stacking
Weight exponentLower exponent, weight has moderate impact~2.5 (gag.gg), weight is the dominant value variable
Single-harvest mutationFull mutation bonus on first harvest~15% of mutation bonus on first and only harvest
CurrencySheckles onlySheckles (main world) + Leaves (Fall Harvest world)
Event worldNoneFall Harvest (launched August 2, 2026), separate currency, Magic Mail to transfer
Sell stand modesBargain mode (percentage bonus)Double or Nothing (50/50 wager, replaced Bargain mode June 20, 2026)
Highest mutationStacked combinations of standard mutationsSingle Eclipsed / Eclipse / Glow at ×80 (cap, no stack)
Top cropVaries by stacked mutation combinationEclipse Bloom (Secret, ~12,000 base) via Sun Bloom + Moon Bloom merge
Bottom line: A GAG1 player cannot transfer their build strategy to GAG2. The mutation-stacking meta is gone. Sprinkler upgrades that raise fruit weight are now the highest-ROI investment for most players, because weight scales to the 2.5 power and applies on every harvest. Mutations are a one-shot multiplier on top, not a stacking engine. For GAG1 crop values and the stacking-mutation formula, use the GAG1 Mutation Calculator.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Can you stack mutations in Grow a Garden 2? +

No. GAG2 enforces a single-mutation rule, meaning each crop carries only one mutation at harvest. If a new mutation lands on a crop that already has one, the new mutation replaces the existing one. This is one of the most important differences from GAG1, where environmental mutations stack additively. See the full GAG2 mutation list for every multiplier.

How does weight affect crop value in GAG2? +

Weight is the single biggest variable in GAG2 crop values. The formula raises weight to the power of 2.5, which means a fruit at 2× its base weight sells for approximately 5.7× more than a 1× weight fruit. Prioritising sprinklers and weight-boosting gear over mutation chasing often produces better results for beginners. Use the Grow a Garden Weight Calculator to project weight scaling, or the GAG2 Sprinkler Calculator to plan sprinkler upgrades.

What is the weight exponent in the GAG2 sell formula? +

The standard exponent is approximately 2.5 per gag.gg (official game code source) and approximately 2.65 per independent community testing. Bamboo and Mushroom use lower per-crop exponents as confirmed exceptions. Maple Bamboo and Maple Mushroom in Fall Harvest do not carry these penalties.

What are the most valuable crops in Grow a Garden 2? +

For multi-harvest income, Hypno Bloom (Super, avg 9,500 base) and Moon Bloom (Super, avg 9,000 base) are the strongest accessible options. For single-harvest value, Atlantic Giant Pumpkin (Legendary, Fall Harvest) opens at 300,000 base and climbs indefinitely as the fruit grows. Mushroom (Epic, 13,000 base) is the best value per Sheckle spent among accessible mid-game crops. At the ceiling, Eclipse Bloom (Secret) averages 12,000 base but is only obtainable by merging Sun Bloom and Moon Bloom. See the ranked best crops in Grow a Garden 2 guide for the full tier list.

What is the Fall Harvest world and how does it affect crop values? +

Fall Harvest is a separate event world launched August 2, 2026. It uses Leaves as its own currency rather than Sheckles. Every Garden Valley seed has a Maple version in Fall Harvest at the same price, plus exclusives like Atlantic Giant Pumpkin, Amber Cranberry, and Conifer Cone. Items can be moved back to the main world using Magic Mail gear purchased with Sheckles. Track the live event status on the GAG2 Event Tracker.

How do Maple crops in Fall Harvest compare to Garden Valley crops? +

Fall Harvest exclusive crops, Atlantic Giant Pumpkin, Amber Cranberry, Conifer Cone, and Romanesco, have no Garden Valley equivalent.

What is the Eclipse Bloom and how do you get it in Grow a Garden 2? +

Eclipse Bloom is a Secret-rarity crop created by growing a Sun Bloom and Moon Bloom to full maturity adjacent to each other. A merge prompt fuses them into Eclipse Bloom, which averages approximately 12,000 Sheckles base value. When harvested, it triggers an Eclipse Bloom weather event applying Eclipsed mutations (×80) to nearby crops. Total seed investment is approximately 195 million Sheckles for both source seeds. See the full GAG2 mutation guide for the Eclipse and Eclipsed mechanics.

What happened to Bargain mode in Grow a Garden 2? +

Bargain mode was permanently removed in Update 1 on June 20, 2026. It was replaced by Double or Nothing, a 50/50 gambling mechanic at Steven's Sell Stand that wagers the entire inventory, a win doubles the total value, a loss results in zero payout. Favourited crops are exempt from the wager. For safer income strategies, see the Sheckles farming guide.

How does decay affect crop value in Grow a Garden 2? +

A fully decayed crop sells for 20 to 55 percent of its fresh value. One to three Watering Can uses fully heal decay and restore full sell value. The critical exception: a crop with any mutation sells at its fresh value even if it looks visually decayed, because the mutation resets sell-value decay to fresh when it lands. Watering mutated crops before selling is optional; watering unmutated decayed crops is essential.

Why is my GAG2 calculator showing different numbers than other tools? +

Three factors cause calculators to diverge: the weight exponent (2, 2.5, or 2.65 depending on the tool), the Veil mutation multiplier (disputed between ×20 and ×50), and the single-harvest penalty (15% or 25%). This calculator uses gag.gg source data with disputed values flagged as Pending.
